In his professional work, Vladimír Kočí focuses primarily on reducing the environmental impact of products, technologies and organizations. His general research topic is product ecology and sustainability. The basic tool of his work is the LCA life cycle assessment method.
In addition to the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, Vladimír Kočí lectures on Product Ecology at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague, at the Faculty of Science, Charles University and at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. He has developed dozens of LCA studies for both commercial and non-commercial entities. He has participated in several scientific projects focused on LCA. He acts as an independent reviewer of LCA and EPD studies for The International EPD System®.
Vladimír Kočí is a graduate of the Department of Water Technology and the Environment of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. From 1999 to 2021 he worked at the Institute of Environmental Chemistry of the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, in 2014-2022 he held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Technology of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. Since 2022 he has been the head of the Institute of Sustainability and Product Ecology.
