Area of interest:

Impacts, perspectives and limitations of plastics recycling in the Czech Republic: Effective plastics recycling is an essential element in the broader context of sustainable waste management. However, the wide range of recycling technologies and the rapidly changing legislative framework create a complex and opaque environment. Using Material Flow Analysis (MFA) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods, the environmental impacts of different recycling methods are systematically mapped and assessed to identify the most effective approaches to plastic waste management. The aim of these analyses is to identify optimal approaches to plastic waste recycling that not only minimise environmental impacts, but also promote sustainability and circularity within legislative requirements. The results of these analyses provide valuable information for the development of effective plastic waste management strategies or contribute to the evaluation of the effectiveness of policies already in place.

Participation in projects:

National Centre of Competence in Polymer Materials for the 21st Century:

  • Plastics recycling residue treatment technologies (RECREC)
  • Biopolymers for agrochemical applications (PolyAgro)
  • Polymer labelling system for digital waste sorting (NPO 1)

Education:

  • 2022+                   Sustainability and product ecology, VŠCHT Praha (PhD.)
  • 1999-2005          Chemistry and technology of fuels and environment, VŠCHT Praha (Ing.)
