Research topic:

"Ecodesign and environmental assessment of products"

Industrial and product design has a major impact on the construction, used technologies and material composition of everyday products, these products are associated with emissions from their production, consumption of primary materials and often with high energy intensity of technological processes used in production. The systematic process that deals with reducing environmental impacts regarding to design aspects is called ecodesign. However, there is currently no consensus on how to easily interpret whether a product complies with ecodesign principles. Part of my dissertation is to set evaluation criteria for the evaluation of industrial and product design. Simultaneously with the creation of evaluation criteria, a tool for determining the environmental impact of products is being created. Such a tool will allow designers to prevent negative environmental impacts.
