Vladimír Kočí focuses his professional work primarily on reducing the environmental impacts of products, technologies and organisations, and more broadly on product ecology and sustainability issues. Life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology is the fundamental tool of his work.

In addition to the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, Vladimír Kočí teaches product ecology at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University, Prague and at the University of Arts, Architecture and Design. He has prepared several dozen LCA studies for both commercial and non-commercial organisations. He is a principal investigator on several research projects focused on LCA. He serves as an independent verifier of LCA studies and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for The International EPD System®.

Vladimír Kočí is a graduate of the Institute of Water Technology and Environment at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague. From 1999 to 2021, he worked at the Institute of Environmental Chemistry at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, and from 2014 to 2022, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Technology at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague. Since 2022, he has been the Head of the Institute of Sustainability and Product Ecology.
