Department of Sustainability and Product Ecology

Sustainability, the circular economy, and the responsible use of resources are among the key themes of contemporary society.

The institute's goal is to develop education and research in the fields of sustainability, product ecology, ecodesign, and raw material security, and to contribute to the implementation of sustainability principles in both industry and public practice.

The study program is focused on understanding the relationships between industry, the environment, and society. Graduates acquire the technical, environmental, and socio-economic knowledge necessary to manage technologies and organizations in a way that minimizes their environmental impact.

The research and professional activities of the institute focus primarily on analyzing the environmental impacts of products, services, and technologies. Analytical tools such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) or Material Flow Analysis (MFA) are utilized, enabling the evaluation of the environmental impacts of products, organizations, and technological processes.
